Eight members and partners from the Rotary Club of Bangkok attended the 2026 Rotary International Convention in Taipei, Taiwan, from 13–17 June 2026. The convention provided valuable opportunities to learn, connect with Rotarians from around the world, strengthen relationships with sister clubs, and participate in meaningful Rotary service and fellowship activities.
Eight members and partners from the Rotary Club of Bangkok participated in the Rotary International Convention held in Taipei, Taiwan, from 13–17 June 2026. Participants included PP Chiemi, PP Dr. Charles and partner, PP Vasana, PP Abdullah, PP David, Rtn Gordon and Rtn Jira.
The convention provided an excellent opportunity for our members to learn, connect and celebrate Rotary with fellow Rotarians from around the world. Beyond attending convention sessions, members strengthened relationships with sister clubs and Rotary friends from many countries.
On 12 June, seven members and partners attended a welcome dinner hosted by our sister club, RC Taipei. The evening was particularly memorable as both the current and incoming Rotary International Presidents were in attendance. On the same day, PP Abdullah attended a fellowship luncheon with members of our sister club, RC Manila.
On 13 June, PP Charles and PP Vasana participated in a Global Grant project organised by our sister club, RC Taipei South World. Together with beneficiary children from rural communities, they toured Taipei's historic district and participated in a “Students Meet Professionals” exchange programme. Both Rotarians shared their professional experiences and answered students' questions, providing valuable guidance and encouragement.
Fellowship continued throughout the convention. PP Charles attended a dinner with members of RC Kowloon East, while PP Chiemi met with Rotary leaders from RC Kushiro North, Japan, a valued supporter of RC Bangkok's Global Grant initiatives. On 14 June, PP Charles and PP Chiemi also joined a fellowship dinner with Rotarians from Myanmar, including our sister club, RC Yangon.
On 16 June, PP Vasana attended a dinner hosted by RC Taipei South World, while PP Charles participated in the Rotary Foundation's “Doing Good in the World” dinner. During the convention, PP Charles also volunteered at the booth of the Rotary Action Group for Mental Health Initiatives, where he has served as a member for the past two years.
Among the highlights of the convention were the exceptional fellowship opportunities, discussions on Global Grant projects with clubs from Myanmar, participation in community-based service activities, and the chance to strengthen long-standing relationships with sister clubs and Rotary friends from Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Myanmar, Singapore and the Philippines.
The Rotary International Convention offered far more than educational sessions and Rotary updates. It provided opportunities to learn, exchange ideas, build friendships, strengthen international partnerships and experience the true spirit of Rotary fellowship. It was a memorable and rewarding experience for all who attended.
