Rotary Fellowships month
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Rotary International’s theme for the month of May is Rotary Fellowships month.
Rotary Fellowships are international groups that share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends around the world, explore a hobby or profession, and enhance Rotary experience. Fellowships are open to Rotarians, family members, as well as participants of all Rotary programs who connect to explore shared interests. Benefits of Rotary fellowships are engaging the family of Rotary through shared interests and connecting with others throughout the world.
Our club’s tradition fellowships are made through our weekly regular meeting, last week of the month is dedicated to fellowship day, at annual fundraising, fellowship dinner, art tours, company visits, sister clubs visits, and most importantly service project activities.
During this COVID-19 pandemic, we have to adapt ourselves using virtual meetings to replace our in-person meetings. Communication via phone, LINE and Facebook are helpful to keep us in touch. Our COVID-19 response projects are continuing in June. Certain members are working on providing food package relief for needy families. At least two trips have been planned to donate food to poor people in Lopburi on 31 May and Ayutthaya on 2 June. The trips are combined with the fellowship programs with the local Rotary Clubs in such provinces.
We will organize two more regular virtual meetings with our member speakers for the first and second Thursday in June. The fourth club assembly is planned on the third Thursday. Finally, the last Thursday will be our new board of directors’ installation. All activities will be virtual meetings for this exceptional situation.
June is the last month of the Rotary year when one term steps down and another team takes over. The Rotary theme will be changed from “Rotary Connects the World” to “Rotary Opens Opportunities”. I wish all the best achievements to the incoming board. Our Rotary fellowship remains.
Yours in Rotary,
Pornchai Wessatada
President 2019-2020
